THE BELIEVER

Winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, and one of the most acclaimed independent films of recent years, THE BELIEVER is a daring and courageous portrayal of a young Jewish man living an impossible contradiction as a neo-Nazi. THE BELIEVER will be released in US theatres in May 2002 by Firewords Pictures through its theatrical distribution joint venture, Independent Distribution Partnership (IDP).
The film is scheduled to open on May 17, 2002 in New York City and Los Angeles and in 10 additional major markets on May 24.

Ryan Gosling's explosive performance in
THE BELIEVER has led many to describe him as a talented "newcomer," although
in fact Gosling has been acting for over a decade. Cast at age 12 in Disney's
The New Mickey Mouse Club following his very first audition, the
Ontario-born Gosling moved to Orlando and joined fellow mouseketeers Britney
Spears, Keri Russell, and future members of N'Sync. Ryan Gosling was
nominated for Best Actor in THE BELIEVER by the 2002 IFP/West Independent
Spirt Awards.
Following his stint for the Mouse House,
Gosling starred in the popular syndicated Canadian television series
Breaker High, as well as the syndicated series Young Hercules,
which was shot in New Zealand.
After he completed his acclaimed work in
THE BELIEVER, Gosling landed the starring role in the independent feature THE
SLAUGHTER RULE opposite David Morse. Gosling's desire to pick intricate and
complex characters led him to the the lead role opposite Sandra Bullock in
Warner Bros.'s MURDER BY NUMBERS for director Barbet Schroeder. Gosling also
played the role of Bosley in REMEBER THE TITANS, which starred Denzel
Washington.
Gosling resides in Los Angeles. In
addition to his work as an actor, he is also an accomplished singer and
songwriter and is in the process of recording his first album.
